Has anyone ever changed the plug on a JUGS pitching machine and can tell me if it is possible for someone that isn't an electrician? I'm semi-handy, change my own brakes on the car, etc. Our machine will be running fine and then all of the sudden shut off. When you wiggle the power cord just so, it will turn back on. I was able to tape the cord into a position where the power would continue to stay on throughout practice, but now it is at the point where even that doesn't work anymore.

Lefty, if u can change your brakes on your car. You Should not have any problems fixing the Jugs pitching machine. I had the same problem. I just found where the open wire was and then cut out the bad piece. I don't remember if i just used a wire connector to slice the wire but I am sure u can figure it out. The cord is shorter but works just find. My jugs was the single wheel. I think it is the jr.

One more thing, if u want to change the cord completely. I am sure u can call jugs. Their customer service is fantastic.
Good luck.

I second that on Jugs' customer service. They have actually talked me out of buying replacement parts, instead suggesting how I can fix the parts I have.

I can't change a plug but my assistant coach has done it several times. My suggestion: ask for a volunteer among your parents, likely someone can do it no problem. Any switch/plug will do -- it's a simple mechanical/electrical element, though beyond my understanding :)

No big deal. You tube should have loads of videos, look up replacing the male plug on a extension cord. It'll walk you right through it.

IRC - the power cord is soldered to the mother board. You can pick up a new replacement cord at any hardware store. One mod I made was to remove the switch. It was constantly breaking and not really needed.

Unplug it before fixing lol. It is common-done it a couple of times, doesn't take
an electrician license doesn't take long either-they are a pretty simple machine

Its quite easy and I actually am an electrician. Buy a 15 amp three prong replacement plug cord cap. Cut the old one off. Strip back the outer insulation of the cord jacket approximately one inch. Strip the three wires back approximately a 1/2 inch. Unscrew the two screws securing the replacement plug if its a one piece plug which are yellow . These are located on the side. Depending upon the type of plug you bought, a 2 piece has a black upper half and a white base , just loosen the 2 screws on the upper half a you need to loosen 3 screws on the bottom as well to seperate the two pieces. If it is a 2 piece plug, insert your wire through the upper half and slide it back towards the machine. Gently loosen the the three screws you see on the inside of the bottom of the cord cap. Green wire goes to green screw terminal or the one marked G. White to the silver or W and black to the gold one either marked B or L. Tighten them down and reassemble as you took it apart remembering to tighten the screws well on the upper side . Easy.
