This is probably a simple question, but how do you score a strikeout with a dropped third strike when the batter/runner reaches first base safely? Would it be K E2? Thanks for letting me know.

It's just recorded as a strikeout for the pitcher with a putout or an assist for the catcher, depending on whether he tagged the batter or threw to first. Catchers don't get errors on dropped balls, they only get recorded as passed balls if a runner advances.
It would only be an error if the catcher made a bad throw.

"The official scorer shall charge a catcher with a passed ball when the catcher fails to*
hold or to control a legally pitched ball that should have been held or controlled with*
ordinary effort, thereby permitting a runner or runners to advance. When the third strike is a passed ball, permitting the batter to reach first base, the official scorer*
shall score a strikeout and a passed ball."
Thanks for the clarification.
No prob bud.
It wasn't a passed ball. It was a wild pitch/swinging third strike, so K+WP in my book.

Interesting, I've always just scored it D3K if the runner reaches 1B safely, and just a K 2-3 if thrown out
Sweet Lou, that was funny!!! Lol
