    Default play-offs next week

    Well we had our final HS game last night, survived yet another regular season without being committed to the asylum or going to jail. A few of us have PM'd each other since we play in the same state and even a couple who play in the the district and division.

    Remember DD was out all last year with a torn cuff ( her sophomore year ) and wasn't sure she would ever pitch again. We have 3 varsity pitchers on 3rd game rotations. We played some great talent this year traveling and finding some of the best HS tournaments offered in the southeast, saw some real studs that we speak about on here and see on the web. Here are team and DD's stats for the season.

    Team 31-9

    DD pitching........10-3

    ERA= 0.87
    80.2 innings
    87 strike-outs
    BF= 307
    BB= 12
    HBP= 6
    WP= 0
    SO= 4
    Runs= 26
    Eruns= 10
    OBP= .251
    W%= .769

    DD hitting.......

    BA= .330
    AB= 97
    R=15
    H= 32
    RBI= 20
    2B= 8
    HR= 1
    BB= 9
    K's= 4
    ROE= 7
    OBP= .383
    Slug= .412
    LOB= 23

    Not the best stats in the world but I'm very proud of her and all the work she put in to return to this game. A year ago the doctors said she might never play again. Keep up the faith DD!!!

    Funny - we are only half way through HS regular season here in upper midwest. I hate this fact....

    If you have 3 pitchers that can pitch that kind of ERA - jeesh I'm jealous.... (I assume you are a Division 1 school?)

    40 games! I am jealous with that too! We only have 27!!

    Congrats with "the come-back!"

    Haha, well..............the other pitchers are good/average one 34k's and the other 37k's for about 80 innings each. 3.87 and 4.17 ERA's.

    We have a good slugging team who puts some runs on the board, which helps for any pitching or fielding errors that might arise. I think last week we had hit 24 HR's as a group. ( and that helps a ton if you got some warm bodies on the bags )

    We are just AAA HS team.

    DD's 3 losses haha........

    First one was to a team ranked in Maxpreps Xcellent National top 25 softball schools. Lost 8-4

    Second was to the #67 national ranked team lost 3-2

    Third was a dang district game. Up 5-2 in the 5th, they went small ball and DD ( LHP ) could not pick up the ball to save her life. LHP have a time playing a good bunting team. Lost that one 5-6.

    My 2 cents....... What I encourage anyone who has a good HS program is to travel to these better HS tourneys. You will get in 4-8 games in on the weekend ( just like TB ) and see some great talent you wouldn't otherwise. It will make your team better in the long run. We had a few regular season rainouts but the tournaments kinda evened out the game #'s. And trust me, the girls would rather go play games as oppose to practice on the weekends.
