Default DD showed me this last night.

I know we all just couldn't believe what happened in the TN/Auburn game, yea right. Things like that have been going on at every level for 50+ years, only difference is now we have video to capture it.

Coaching 3rd Ive heard some things come out of girls mouths that I thought only boys said. They take this game just as serious as their male counterparts. And that's from teams all over the country.

Things like in this video happened a lot when I was playing, without the technology of today you would have never known who hit this guy. Everyone's focus was on the cleared benches and mob.

Yep, technology can be a great thing. Hopefully that player is proud of himself and will not see the field for at least a year. What a coward.

Maybe I led a sheltered life. I played baseball from age 5 into college and never saw anything like this (in a baseball or softball game - football and basketball a whole other thing). Played another 12 years of slow pitch (league plus every weekend) and still the dirtiest shot I have ever seen was at a 12u game where a girl who made the last out for the other team dropped our first baseman with an elbow to the ribs.

Have also seen instances where after shaking hands at the end of the game saw girls crying because kids on the losing team purposely hurt their hands in line. Girls can be HARSH!

Yes, and we coaches walk through the line up too. I've heard girls drop the "B" word and "F U".

What we have done the last couple of years is to invite the line up into a end of game prayer circle. I'm not pushing religion on anyone, but it has been very successful and seems to tone down any harsh feelings about the game. We only had 2 teams in that time refuse.

Sorry Amy you are DEAD wrong here... That was not a man who did that. That was an immature BOY!!!! I hope they identify him. Not too hard to figure out that he came from left field. Literally...

They identified the kid. He was tossed off the team and he has since left school. The kid was stupid.

It is a sign of the times, though. Politeness and manners seems to have gone out of style. It drives me nuts how disrespectful Americans have become.
