It absolutely drives me nuts when coaches keep rotating players. Especially if you are planning to play in All Stars. The girls have to stay in one position to learn it well. I'm not saying there shouldn't be some rotation. That's the only way you can tell if a girl has the talent for that position. But you can't keep rotating them or they'll never get enough experience to be good.

I know ....
my 9 year has said a bunch of times..."I never touched the ball"
I'm hoping she keeps playing...but she loves soccer and this is boring for her.

Another game tomorrrow ... no idea if either of my daughters will pitch.....find out when they walk into dugout.

Thanks for the kind words 3s.

I read everything that I can on this subject and basically have my own kids raised. I remember the LL years and All Stars, well.

Although, I taught my DD to pitch, I also had her play 1st. When they are little it helps to have your own kid at first base, because generally they can catch the ball.

Another thing I did when I coached little girls was to teach them all the OF. I sorta feel that most good infielders can play OF. Many true OFers can't play IF.

I have a Jugs pitching machine and I can run 12 girls through OF drills pretty quickly.

I can't see rotating girls the whole game. I can see sometimes you are at 3rd, sometimes you catch. But generally, by the first few games the coach should know who their SS is. Sometimes, I can pick a catcher out of girls that I have never seen play.

There should be a lot of softball on ESPN starting Friday. I know the U of AZ games are televised, but that may be regional. Check your TV listings.
