I have been shopping around for stocking stuffers for my DD and was looking at those arm resistance bands. There are several different brands out there but I think I narrowed it down to two...Arm Pro Bands and Jaeger Sports bands.

What are your thoughts on these two bands, good and bad? My DD is 14U but a bigger kid and want to buy something durable.

We have J bands. I am friends with one of the presidents of the company, they are great guys with a great product. They do throwing clinics and really care about the sport. If you end up buying Jbands you get a laminated card that shows all of the exercises. There is also an entire "softball" section of their website that has Monica Abbot going through the whole routine , we watched it a couple of times so that DD could see how its done.We keep the laminated card rolled up in in DD's bat bag along with her bands and she uses them as part of her pitching warm up. Takes about 10 minutes .They clip on any chain link fence and those are easy to find at ball parks ;-). We installed 2 hooks in the basement so she cal clip on somewhere at home.

the ones that the package deal are selling look really nice as well. If I didn't already have JBands I would probably be interested in those although they do look a lot more bulky and I don't know how much room in a bag they'd take up.

I'm looking to get some for my DD. What color band do you think would be good for a 10yr old?

There are 2 tensions. either the regular (adult) or youth, available in any color you choose, the different colors don't mean different resistance. :) got my DD the youth set, she's 11
they say go youth for 12 and under. The difference is there is slightly less resistance for the youth. if she wants a stronger resistance she just moves out further from where it's clipped (she has not desired stronger resistance thus far):p

Thinks for the clarification kneehighsocks. When DD was in physical therapy for shoulder issues the colors did represent different resistance. So I assumed it was the same. Thanks again.

yes I know the colored physical therapy bands all too well :)

FWIW my Dd had a shoulder issue last winter as well. Thats when we decided to get her on a band program. She has taken to it quite well. its not too difficult for a young kid to do, but hits all the right muscles for warm up, strength and conditioning.

The system the Packaged Deal uses is Crossover Symmetry. From what I can see its much more expensive than J-Bands, ~$200 for 1 set, J-bands are ~$35, both have deals for teams.

I'd be really interested to hear from anyone who has tried both and can justify (or not) the higher price tag for CS.
