Resistance bands work miracles for throwing distance. Quick results with only 10 minutes a day. After two weeks a player will have a much better arm. 5 day a week for two months and your player will have a cannon for an arm.

J-bands are well made and the work out routine that comes in the box is very good for strengthening the entire body.

I recommend buying a band set that has handles instead of the wrist straps. I have found that the handles allow better forearm and wrist workouts because the user can implement wrist flexion/extension and pronation/supination during shoulder work.

My DD hates the way the straps feel on her wrists so she uses the wrist straps as handles. Although not an actual hard handle, Works fine

Sorry a bit off topic. ..I think any exercise is good exercise, but I prefer to maximize the return by performing compound exercises. My daughter exercises with Slam balls, the exercises she performs works on the major muscle groups while working the secondary or supporting muscles as well. 25 mins 2 to 3 times a week is doing wonders for her. IMO, focusing on the major muscle groups and minimizing isolating the smaller muscle groups reduces the chances of injury. Plus we all know how important the hips, core, back and legs are important in every sport and just about every movement. I also love how you can work on being explosive with a Slam or Med ball. It really teaches the kids how to use their major muscle groups

Julray - how old is your daughter (or when did she start using them)? Also - what surface does she use them on? I've been tempted to start some sort of med ball program myself, but wonder how things like vinyl floor tile, concrete floors, or cinder block walls hold up to the abuse.

I can't speak for everyone else but we use bands as part of her throwing routine and arm care, this is separate from her overall conditioning, which she also does

Hook a softball onto the J straps and you'll have something!

I like handles that spin. The handles distribute the load evenly on the fingers. The handles will roll to the fingertips on the negative move which alows full range of motion.

Doesnt really matter, as long as youre stretching a band youre getting a good work out. I think if you only do one exercise outside of the ball field, arm bands should be that exercise.

With the slam balls, does anybody know where we can find exercises to use for the slam balls? Was looking at them for gift but want some type of exercise manual.

Also, what are some good brands of slam balls?
