DD Health issue- have any of you had similar symptoms?

17 yo DD was recently found to have an ovarian cyst. she was in pain regularly which varied from a little to a lot. early this morning she got up in a lot of pain and DW (the RN) took her to the hospital where she got morphine (the highlight of her day) and an ultrasound. The MD found that the cyst had gotten smaller (which they sometimes do) and believes that her pain is due to some kind of pinched nerve. her pain is in her back and stomach so originally (a week or two ago) they were thinking kidneystones when they found the cyst.

The MD's direction was to take two weeks off from softball. She is only training once a week -1 hr pitching, 1 hr hitting, so I don't see how that could be causing or exacerbating this problem. Have any of you or your DD's had similar symptoms and if so, what was the diagnosis/solution?

Not my DD, but plenty of female family have had this sort of thing.
