Ok....not bad under 3 min. No BS. B+

Missing contact details in the opening slide (and probably in the closing slide as well). That is very important especially if I want to recruit her...
Same with GPA, Intended Major, Physical Location (I don't know where Jurupa Hills HS is)

Outfielding and first base could probably do with 2-3 less repetitions. First base especially.
Hitting - it is ok to show a poor swing result in the video, but not as the intro swing. Put a good one first.
Slapping - I want to see her run home to first a couple more times so see if she has college speed to slap.

So if I was watching this video as a coach recruiting:

She is an excellent slapper (technique) who looks like she plays a good outfield. Not a very good regular hitter (2 good swings in 10) - and the first one was awful. Could play first if needed but not really her primary position.

That is the impression the video makes. If that is who she is, you have succeeded.

So Cal
marriard's assessment seems pretty right-on.

Personally, I think the camera could have been backed up a little in a few shots. Also, the editing on the hitting was a little jumpy. A little less camera-switching would be easier to watch.

Thanks for the feedback for sure. Yea it was something I really just threw together. I asked her if she wanted to do a intro. She said what I have was fine. Her mom pointed out that on the original intro I misspelled the last name. LOL Changed that out .

I will more likely redo this in about three months. Just wanted to get something going and trial and error. I wanted to keep the video moving for sure. My dd pointed out that she got bored with all the outfielding. I should have probably taken out a couple of clips.

probably a few too many drag bunts in the beginning...I also noticed first normal hit was not the best, definitely want to highlight those line drives to the gaps. A couple fielding shot she ended up off camera and the fielding video did seem far away, I think the GPA, team names (HS and Travel) and contact info is standard...but good first try, keep up with the trail and error thing its the only way to figure things out. and you know you have people here to give constructive feedback

All the above comments. In addition, some of the camera angles (the outfield) were kind of strange to me. Also if possible, try to keep the other camera out of the shot.

For the outfield what I do is; All outfield work is from RF if the sun is in a good position. Camera A is zoomed in on the player following her making plays and camera B is located behind 3B kind of in a wide angle shot showing her arm strength. I do brief the "helpers" that even though they aren't the one being filmed, their play is just as important as I can't use a shot of a great one hopper throw and the receiver drops it.

Not a bad video! Agree with the above respondents. Player needs more instruction. Fielding: playing ball off both feet on easy grounders. Batting: swing, head movement, etc! Just things coaches are going to point out.

The entire reason to put together a video to send a coach is to market your player to that coach. What skills/talents/assets are you trying to sell? First you have to decide what makes her most attractive to a coach and put that right up front. If there is not a "WOW" factor in the first 10 seconds, they will not bother watching the rest of the video. What is it about YOUR player that makes a coach say WOW, I need to have this kid on my team.

WA is a good technical slapper and bunter, but does she have speed? I did not see anything that tells me she is fast and would be a nightmare slapper to defend. Does she have power? You have to give the coach something more than slapping. The world is full of singles hitters. If she has power to go with speed, coaches will be interested.

Defensively, she has pretty good outfield mechanics. I would also showcase her arm and accuracy with some video from behind. Do not bother with any video at 1B. College is full of immobile power hitters who can play 1B. There is no advantage to marketing a player as a first baseman unless they have power.

Hope this helps!

It's a heck of a lot better than anything I've put together so far Mike! I would agree with most of the comments made here so far regarding number of reps included, contact info, camera angles and distance (keep the footwork in the shot), etc.... Nice work so far and it'll only get better!
