I have never watched a single pitcher wearing a mask able to actually make the riseball rise. In fact based on the physics (very complicated equations) I think it is in fact impossible for a pitcher with a mask to make the riseball defy gravity!!

Thoughts?

If the US Space Program returns to the moon, we will have incontrovertible proof that wearing a helmet while pitching will enable a riseball to truly rise. FWIW, the astronaut trying the same with just a mask won't have quite the same experience.

Stream of consciousness thinking - If you had to build a FP field on the moon, at what distance would you make the OF fences? And how high?

I would make the fences 1,200 to 1,320 feet deep and 48 feet high.

Here's the Merriam Webster's definition of rise. I think that's where we need to start.

Simple Definition of rise

1

: to move upward

2

: to become higher

3

: to slope or extend upward
