How does everyone pack their bats and other equipment when taking air flights to tournaments? We're new to the travel team and would like to know the best way.

Thank you!

My DD has an old cathers bag that we use for her bats. I have also found that I can get a folding chair and a soft sided cooler in there. We also throw in the sunscreen and other items that would cause a problem with the TSA going through security. Do NOT put anything in a checked bag that would be difficult to replace quickly - glove, jerseys, cleats.

Things that are not easily replaceable need to be carry on. Glove, uniform, etc.

Everything else check or ship to hotel before hand. I think shipping is easier.

If you lose a bat you can borrower or go buy one, not the end of the world.

I bought a used soft sided golf travel cover, heavily padded, from Play It Again Sports. It is large enough to fit the roller bag into.
Have not had any issues what so ever. Last trip was ASA Nationals in College Station, Texas.

What we do is the team has a large duffle bag that players can opt to put their bats in. Carry on's should have their glove, uniforms ect.
