Not trying to be a cheerleader for PGF,
BUT
Why would they travel to more distant locales to play?

That's the whole reason PGF was created, they had to travel all over the USA, chasing berths to ASA stuff
Then wind up playing a team from 5 miles down the road in So Cal in the Championship games?
In some crap hole town that ASA (highest bidder) picked?
When they can play in Huntington Beach, in great weather and not have to travel halfway across the planet?

I'll let you know after I get back. I wondered the same thing since my DD is on one of the teams you mentioned. I will get feedback from the tailgate party Thursday after talking with the USSSA brass.

This is not a team event so much as it is more like a week long "All Star" 'ish event. Basically the kids try out for the team, if they make it they go play for about a week in Orlando.

Florida
Many Florida girls played on the California teams last year.

U-trip is trying to build it up but right now it is more kinda interesting than anything real.

That said, the girls who went last year had a great time.

In GA USSSA seems to be growing really quickly. I love playing USSSA and we'll probably play a high percentage of USSSA tourneys this year. They tend to be well organized and have decent umps. Their website is fantastic. I love that I can see other teams that are registered, don't have to wait on anyone to send the schedule - pool games are posted, you get emailed if they change, the bracket is posted and updated regularly as games are played. I love it.

USSSA has been trying for years to be #1 in softball...for as long as I can remember,
Stuff such as the NPF Pride is part of it. I commend their efforts.
With Softball being back in the Olympics for 2020 and ASA has self proclaimed itself as "Keeper of the Roster" you're gonna see some changes in that part of the game.

And
if you think the OC Batbusters were in KC for that event just to be on TV or just to play some competition.
you'd be mistaken...
