Outfield fences

I have heard about "pitcher friendly" baseball parks, and when my DD was at camp last week I noticed that the Purdue outfield was 210' down both foul lines. Most parks we play in are 200' down the lines, so I wonder how much difference the extra 10' will make...this has to lower their pitchers ERAs a few points!

Not sure how many HRs Purdue gave up last season, especially at home, but I know they made more than their fair share of errors!!! Add the fact that they could not hit a lick and it was a recipe for disaster. Without Lily Fecho their record would have been much worse, it will be interesting to see how they do next season without her.

According to Google Maps, it's 210 to RF, but 200 to LF. Also 220 to straight-away CF and 220 to right-center.

fwiw, in MLB, a significant factor in whether it's a pitcher's park is the amount of foul territory. In college softball, it might be fairly standard and not worth mentioning, I don't know.

The vast majority of fields my dd played on were 200 down the line and 220 to center. However, even that is deceptive. For example, the University of Indianapolis has a very high fence up. Maybe as high as 20 feet. (Part fence and part netting.) I don't know how deep Missouri S&T is to center but it is a long distance phone call. A lot of the fields now have extended their fences and are, I'd guess, 10 foot high.

Softball fields seem iffy sometimes. We almost always have a fence, where it it is and how high is random.

Anyone know the dimensions of the field for the WCWS? I am guessing the fence is 6' after watching Tiffany Howard bring back that HR ball in game 2.
