So, DD has made the All Star team and that means I'm slithering down the rabbit hole. What are the must haves to prepare for "tournament day"? Looking for AC perspective and parent perspective (for my DW)?

Chairs, umbrella/shade/pop up tents, water (LOTS), gatorade, sunflower seeds, fruit, protein bars, SUNSCREEN, bug spray, first aid kit, money (lots), all uniforms (just in case), ice, dry towels, score books, pencils, lineup cards...tape, fingernail clippers, rubber bands, hair ties, etc.

Our very first all stars tournament was a 2 day. Day one we lugged all our crap from the car a freaking mile to our field. I dropped everyone off after our last game and went straight to Academy for a wagon. We actually have 2 now. Crucial! We also got a big water cooler, very important. Cooling towels for hot weather. Chairs.

Right Here For Now
A large and a small ice chest or cooler. Large one for the drinks with ice, the small one is ice water for the frog togs (2)plus everything else mentioned above as a parent. As a coach, add a bucket of balls. tee, bownet and a glove re-lacing kit to everything else mentioned above. Oh, and don't forget skilz balls/wiffles/TCB holey balls.

Maybe a bigger car?

Most all star tournaments are 2 days minimum and warm weather is right around the corner.

Team - First aid kit is a must, a list of acceptable snack and drinks for players (don't be surprised if you don't), Bownets, balls and tees. If you are in it for the fun factor only then you can let the kids eat and drink what they want.

For the kid - Plenty of fluids, protein snacks and the least amount of sugar products possible.

Parents - these were my rec ball choices (when not coaching) - chair (in the outfield), ice chest and a red SOLO cup. Especially if your daughter is a pitcher...

Enjoy, it can be a wonderful experience.

Blankets for the girls to lounge around between games (under the tent(s)). Our girls like card games, so nearly every girl has a deck of cards in her bag.

1. Yeti cooler, provided it is opened at least 200 times per hour, pretty much negating any benefit of keeping ice longer
2. Rose colored glasses with interchangable grass-is-greener-on-the-other-side lenses that you can look at other teams with for when things start going south
3. Portable sound system with one blown speaker to distort the sound just enough to annoy everyone
4. Lots of snacks and fruit in the cooler, plus cash to buy stuff at the concession stand when other people's kids eat all your food because they didn't bring anything
5. Sunscreen, and extra sunscreen for the ones that forget it and use yours
6. Solo cups for drinking certain types of liquids that may or may not be buried in the bottom of your cooler
