Because we've seen so many talented girls leave our community for other comp organizations that are 30+ minutes away, I decided to try and start one that stems from our rec program. We started with a 12U last year but we were still hidden. This year, we are more exposed and have had people ask us about our team. I'd like to build our organization next year to add a 10U and a 14U. Part of this is marketing, I'm sure.

What websites are the best for team websites and that are affordable? Again, we are just a tiny team in a community but because we are getting noticed, I know that I should create something.

You can use Wordpress for free. Your site would be something like teamname.wordpress.com. If you decide you want to have just be teamname.com it's around $18/year. Wordpress isn't too hard to figure out. Once you get it it's pretty easy.

Winning games and getting players recruited will have a bigger impact than a flashy website....

Just use Facebook for now and keep it updated.

Whatever you do - Facebook, real site, whatever - the bold is the key. I say keep it simple and keep it up to date. If your team has an email address be sure someone is responding to messages. Nothing is more annoying than an out of date website and an email contact nobody responds to. Our team uses Sport Ngin Platform | Powering websites, online registration, tournament & league management for sports but I have no idea how much it costs. It reminds me of Wordpress the way the sites are put together.

I'm not looking for a flashy website. I am looking for something where other people can go to find information about our team or to contact us. That's it. I've had a couple of teams say they "looked" for us but couldn't find any information.
