This should cause some uproar.

The Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA)/USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, in working with Easton Baseball/Softball Inc. (Easton), announced today that Easton is voluntarily removing the following softball bat models from the ASA/USA list of certified bats: SCN1, SCN11BH, SCN1B, SCN2B, SCN3, SCN4B, SCN5, SCN5B, SCN6B, SCN7, SCN7B, SCN8, SCN8B, SCN9, SCX14, SCX14B, SCX24B, AND SCX3.

Other organizations that currently use ASA’s bat performance standards such as the NCAA, NFHS, NAIA, NJCAA may restrict such bats from play in 2016 and beyond.

An important message about updates to ASA/USA Softball's Certified Bats

I was just looking at some of these on eBay because DD's Srv4b sounds like a rain stick.

Is this an effort to push people into buying new bats instead of the old ones that perform better?

^^^Make no mistake, this is EXACTLY what it is...a money grab. I don't see the Phenix on the list, and we have a couple. Yep, my DD is more than likely going to swing the hottest fastpitch bat that Demarini has ever made now that Easton is retiring their best. Thanks Easton. You lured her to the Phenix drop 8 quad wall!

BTW, yes I know. Businesses are in business to grab all the money they can get. That doesn't mean I have to comply.

I will NOT be buying another Easton bat in protest of their "voluntary" removal of these bats from the ASA approved bat list! Is the Demarini the hottest bat left on the approved bat list? Someone hook a brother up!
