For those who have access to a Hack Attack Jr., what balls are best? Instructions are to use the dimpled balls or low-seem leather. Which do you find are better? Has anyone used regular leather (normal seems)? Any other tips about using the machine would be welcome.

We use the baden dimple balls. Haven't had a lot of luck with leather balls, seem to throw wild ones on occasion, plus the wheels will tear at the leather next to the seams. Overall a good machine. No problems yet. Had ours about 4yrs.

Low seams leather may work ok, we tried regular seams and had issues. Baden balls are good, usually a dozen will get us through a year, with alot of use, although they do feel kinda of heavy when hitting off the machine.

Great for both. Infield flys, not so good, when you get the machine too vertical, you kinda have to throw the ball in against the wheel

Baden dimple balls are only way to roll. I was told this by two guys that use Hack Attack so I sold my Jugs dimples. Baden was more consistent, don't know why.

Also sold my Jugs machine. Wish I would have bought the Hack machine first. When you use factory recommended settings for a fastball it puts 12/6 spin on the ball and it was a real adjustment for us. Like "had a hard time even bunting it" hard. If you are used to hitting Jugs machine do a mild rise ball at first and then go with one number lower on the bottom wheel and let them know to relax and not stress.

We hit front toss most of the time but my kids were very much conditioned to the weird flight a jugs produces. I also think they were conditioned to the big THUNK to time swing off of.

I'd like to have a dozen of the Pro Nine low seam stitch balls. They are spendy.
