Go away with your downer thoughts. I was just starting to get psych'd for Surf City tomorrow and now I get this.

In all seriousness, the thought seems to come around more often these days but I am happy to have these times now.

Good luck at Surf City!

Right Here For Now
Shoot, for the most part I don't have anyone to take now. My DD is driving now and pretty much meets me at practices since her schedule is so hectic with HS conditioning, HS choir, homework, theater, Winter indoor league and a boyfriend.

You guys have it all wrong. Just because practices and even games end, doesn't mean you miss out.

Life is great with adult kids, your life opens back up. But at the same time you get to start seeing that all that parenting you did paid off. You get to see your DD doing things you only dreamed of doing, you get to watch her turn into a beautiful woman. Its like nothing you ever experienced on a diamond, but you can look back at that diamond time and see where her personality and how she responds to challenge comes from. Softball isn't the destination, its only part of the journey.

Will you miss softball, sure, but whats coming next is just as cool I promise you.

And BTW don't fear teen age boyfriends, might be the best thing you can do for your dd in the long run. But that's a different theory I have.

I told my DH that he needs to become an ASA umpire so I have a great excuse to go to games without looking like a stalker or a crazy softball lady...

Haha, yep. My DH coaches, so I figure he can keep coaching if he wants to. Why not? He could even go back to coaching rec, help out the local county. Though after what he's used to that might not be much fun. I think being an ump would either be fun, or incredibly annoying. Probably depending on my mood at any given moment. They take a LOT of crap.
