Tryouts-admittedly stupid question

Will one of the teams that your daughter is interested in do a private tryout? The teams my daughter had an interest in trying out for had conflicting times and we couldn't make a Sunday tryout because of a church obligation, so we set up two private work outs and did a regularly scheduled open tryout as well. Did them starting last Friday evening and two on Saturday. By Monday morning she received offers from all three and now is deciding between them. Worked great and since she was by herself on one private tryout and with just one other girl the other private tryout the actual time spent was much less. A little over an hour at each private workout compared to the 2:45 tryout with 18 other girls.

Often times teams will offer multiple days/times so if players can't get to one tryout they can make another.

If your daughter nails it the first day, she may not need to go to the others. The team may offer her a spot right there, or shortly after if they're interested. If she doesn't do so well but you think the team is a good fit, going back a second or third day might help them make a decision in your favor.

I know some teams want 2 of 3 tryouts. Of course, if your dd is a stud and nails the tryout, you might get a call without attending another. I don't know of any program that demands that you come to all 3.

The team we chose is having their 3rd and final tryout in a week. They called us the morning after the first one to offer my dd a spot. If she nails it and makes an impression the one might suffice and you could go to other team tryouts on the later dates if there are conflicts. We still went back to the others, just to get her on the field and start getting used to her new coach. We knew going on we wanted on this particular team, though.

Thanks for the responses and sharing your experience everyone. I appreciate it. I did get a response back last night that they do expect the girls to be at 2 out of the 3 sessions. That does help a lot, as their second day is the one that conflicted with another team.

It may all be a mute point, but just wanted to get times and things lined up. Tomorrow marks exactly one year since my DD had spinal fusion due to scoliosis. PT says she is good to go, but ultimately it is up to the surgeon. Appt in the morning for xrays and such. If she is not able to play and be at 100% she will not be trying out anywhere.

We hold 3 try outs for our 16U team. I encourage the ones that want to keep with the team to come to all 3 but not required. We set 3 dates because we know there will be some that go to other team try outs or just simply cannot make it some of the times. We hold nothing against them for not being there all 3 and being there all 3 does not give you a spot on the team either. Mix it up and go to lots of try outs. I coach my daughter and still encourage her to go to other teams try outs or play pick up with them.

. Why would someone think that naming a girls team XXX Elite is a good idea? I would be scared to even google that.
