My daughter's 12U team is traveling from RI to GA this weekend for their first taste of southern softball! Should be a great experience for them to see and play against some great competition in a futures showcase. I'm not sure if they're ready, but hopefully they have fun and learn a lot. If we get our arses whooped, it should be good inspiration to work even harder this winter!

Our family is in North Georgia not far from Chattanooga, TN it has been hot here lately high in the mid to upper 90s and lows in the upper 70s and very humid so be prepared. It is expected to cool off some here Saturday with the high of 80 and thunder storms and 90 Sunday.

Don't know where you are playing, but a lot of great facilities in GA. The Atlanta Legacy is always a good showcase to attend when the team gets older teams from all over and many colleges are there watching.

Good luck to your team and hope you have a good experience in our state.

Where are you playing if you don't mind if I ask? My daughter played in Georgia through 12U, then moved to N.C. Georgia is definitely a good state for softball.

It is going to be hot, so all the advice you already know (hydrate, hydrate, hydrate) is important. I am in Georgia too. Good luck this weekend. Enjoy the hospitality and good eats! :)

I'm in GA too. Yes, it's very hot right now. I think it feels more hot than usual because we actually got a spring for a change. Summer here is no fun. Bring frog togs, fans, tons of water.
