So if by some crazy chance she would go to big showcase this fall and shut down teams she still wouldnt get looked at.

Most likely not. Coaches go there to watch players who've contacted them. Because she is smaller and is not throwing blazing speed she will not have the WOW factor that will grab a coaches eye in a couple of pitches if the coaches don't know her. Sounds unfair, but that's usually the way it goes. If she were to have blazing speed along with the spins and control she would be the exception, not the rule.

For now, short pitchers are doomed to the same fate as left-handed catchers. They will only be valued and sought after by coaches whose knowledge has evolved beyond baseless historical stereotypes.

What exactly is the difference between a pitcher that is 5"-3" throwing low 60s and one that is 5'-10" throwing low 60s?

Depending on their relative stride lengths, the taller pitcher could be releasing 1-2' closer to the plate, which effectively adds several mph to the pitch.

Not sure I agree with your mathematics. I think your values are a bit on the high side.

Don't know about specific mathematics. I've heard 1' closer to the plate = 3mph, but I don't know what pitching distance that applies to.

I read an article on this last season. There are MLB pitchers who top out at 88-89mph. Some of them are described as "sneaky fast." They don't hit 90mph, but somehow the ball seems to get on the hitter in a hurry. Video analysis showed that the "sneaky fast" pitchers released from a point closer to the plate.

Some girls on the tall side almost stride out of the circle, so all other things being equal that pitch is probably getting to the hitter quicker.

I don't know this girl personally (she's from Illinois) but Dale Ryndak from A-State is listed at 5'5" but I'm here to tell you she isn't that tall. Her teammate, Breanna Macha, I know for sure is 5'6" and she towers over Ryndak. I'd be surprised if Ryndak is much over 5'3" if you put a tape on her.

The Ryndak kid throws pretty hard and has a great changeup. I like what I see from her but I've only seen her a couple of times.
