How is Fall High School Softball Going for Everyone....?

How is Fall High School Softball Going for Everyone....? I know Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Georgia (and other states maybe) play in the Fall and it's playoff time now....was wondering how the regular season went for everyone in those states and their playoff pictures are shaping up....

DD's school is still in it. They were down 0-4 in their district playoff game last night before turning it around and coming back to win 8-4. Of course, that win means they face the top-seeded team next, so the season may not last much longer. Still, you never know!

Sadly, DD hurt her bad knee again on a play at the plate a few weeks ago, so she can only cheer them on from the sidelines.

Your DD's team is still on a tear, I believe. Is she having fun?

My DD's team is going to finish second in our region. Split the series with the team that will finish first, but lost it on a run differential tie breaker. Last regular season game of the season is tonight and the playoffs start next week.

yes and no....we have had a good season, repeating will be tough and in the district finals tomorrow....and my DD has had a great year at the plate....but having to catch 30 games when you haven't done it for 2.5 years hasn't been fun for her.....

I see PHS is doing well and in a good spot to take on Staley....hope you DD is doing better....

Oklahoma 3a and below are having state game now if the rain hasn't delayed them. DD'S soon to be HS team finished 8th in the state this year and they finished 6th the previous year. 4a and up finished regionals yesterday and play state next weekend.

Huh. It looks like Colorado is the only state crazy enough to split district play and the championship bracket into two one-day tournaments. Everyone else plays over the course of several days, which makes a lot more sense. Strange - I'm not sure why Colorado chooses to do it this way. Possibly because our schools are geographically spread out, but I would think that districts could at least be played over the course of a few days.

I can't tell you how much I wish that our silly state would switch to fall softball. I guess that they just like playing in the snow...

We have fall ball here in the Houston area. Not a fall season in place of spring, but schools get together and form "leagues" where we play each other on a scheduled basis. Both JV and V participate. No playoff that I am aware of; just a way for the girls to get some game time in before the real season starts.

So far we have played three of our four scheduled games - Dang rain! We are scheduled to play 8 games total ending just before Thanksgiving. DD is an 8th grader playing HS Varsity as a pitcher. Most of the HS Varsity teams around here are comprised of about two thirds 16U and 18 Gold players and one third non tournament ball players. She having a great time so far!

DD's team is playing district semi-final tomorrow and finals Monday if they get there. Supposed to be finishing up tomorrow but rain has delayed the games for a couple of days.
