I'm Darrell Butler from Troy, Il which is 20 miles east of St. Louis. I have coached in approximately 600+ baseball victories as either an assistant coach or Head Coach. I've been blessed to have coached 16 young men who have gone on to play professionally and some have made it to MLB. I have one last one who was drafted and has just signed. I've coached baseball internationally in Kaunas, Lithuania and Moscow, Russia (Soviet Union). I coached there in 1988. I remember late in 1988, Sports Illustrated did an article on some HS kids getting back from the Soviet Union with the heading that they were the first Americans to play baseball in the Soviet Union. NOPE! I've coached my daughter every year of her life but have now stepped down so that she can play for someone else these last two years before entering college. My dd is 16 and playing "up" with an 18U team that will/has already play(ed) some 18U Gold. She's a good kid and that is all that really matters to us.

BTW, in my spare time, I moderate the 101 Coaching Forum at Baseball Fever as well as a few forums at hsbaseballweb. I'm also the Head Girl's Golf Coach and this is the first year in the last 24 years that I have not coached basketball.

Congratulations Amy. My name is Hugh and I live in Southern Ontario, Canada. I have three daughters that all play softball - 16, 14 and 13. They all love the game. I also coach 16U travel ball that my 14 yr old pitches for. So far the whole dad/daughter versus coach/player thing has not been a problem. We continue to have a great relationship as I have had coaching all of my girls so far. All are great kids - most likely due to their mother who has never played a single inning.

I'm Brad from San Diego, CA. I work for the Navy. I have a 12U DD that pitches primarily but also plays 1B and OF. I am an ASA certified umpire for both fastpitch and slowpitch. Congrats to Amy on the new addition.
