I have come to the realization that I need to get a Catchers Mitt in order to continue catching DD so I am looking for recommendations.
I'm hoping for an easy break in and I dont think I'll need it for more than 5 years when DD goes to college.

thanks!

I have a Wilson "Game-Ready" I really like. Baseball mitt, but plenty big for a 12 inch softball, and arrived very close to actually being broken in. About $90. A year of use so far, and much more left in it. I'm relatively new here, so not sure about posting source. PM if you want to know.

I believe there are a number folks here who sell equipment that have stellar reputations. I hope some will chip in here. I'd like to create a list of such for future reference.

I have a Mizuno. ..awesome glove. 4 yrs old with no problems. I use it a lot to warm our pitchers up plus my 9u player is coming along...so hopefully I get a lot more use.

DD#1 and one of the other catchers on her team had a Wilson that was great- but I don't think they make that model anymore - I will check out the mizuno- Thanks!

Mizunos are great and I have a LS Xeno cathers mitt that I bought (sample) from a rep I know and I have enjoyed it. It broke in easy and works much better than the older gloves that I team has for catching girls. I think the faster you daughter is throwing the more you might want to spend to make sure you have a glove that will last and has adequate padding.

Yeah, adequate padding is my motivation. its not just when I catch them in the palm but also the finger joints too.
DDs PC has a sweet old glove that looks like a leather pillow and swallows the ball.

Mizuno GXS 92 Franchise 34" (brown and white). Also, you can wear a padded glove under the catchers mitt for extra cushion, if needed.

Louisville Slugger "Big Daddy" 34" mitt.
Made specifically for 12"balls and its designed a touch big to fit a dads hand and not a female.
I've had it for about three years. Works great. I think it was only around $75...
