This is regarding USSSA rules. A girl cannot be rostered on 2 teams on the same age class like 12c and a 12b...correct? But if a girl is 10u eligible can she play on 10A, 11open, and 12B? My DD is a Jan birthday which gives her several options next year and I am wanting to clarify her options. She played 10B as her primary team and played a lot of 12C pickup and did well. If she is able to roster on her primary and 2 secondary teams then that would save the hassle of filling out pickup forms plus issues if she played state or World Series with her secondary teams that she plays pickup.

Always talk to the state director to get clarification to make sure you understand their rules but generally while rosters are not frozen players can roster on and off teams as much as needed. Also remember that a roster for USSSA doesn't mean squat to any of the other alphabet orgs. Seen teams as 'A' in USSSA rostered as 'B' in NSA and so forth.

We live in Missouri and there is USSSA and then all other organizations are a very distant 2nd in tournaments offered and competition. Part of me wishes there were more options available such as ASA teams but the other part is glad the competition is not diluted from multiple organizations.

You want your DD to be on 3 different teams and you're concerned about the competition being diluted?

She plays on a primary team and plays pickup/fills in for the other teams when they need a player and her primary isn't playing. We are interested in playing on 2 teams in different in different age groups...not 3. I do not see how that dilutes any talent. Just helps a team play that needs a pitcher and would not get to play otherwise.

Yeah. Found that out after the fact. An A or B cannot play for C even if aging up and pickup only. That only applies if it is a C only tourney though correct. It was open tournaments with B and C teams so I believe it was legal....correct? She was playing Utrip on regional directors team so I assumed it was legal.

So a 10uA player can't be added to a 12UB roster as a guest? Even if she's been removed from that of the other team? Can someone point me to that rule? I couldn't find in the USSSA rule book.
