This may be a silly question, but I am new to this. If my team plans on playing a couple of each NSA, ASA, and USSSA tournaments, do we have to register our team with each association? Seems like that would be very expensive. Thanks for any help :)

Right Here For Now
You have to register your team and your team roster with each organization as far as ASA and NSA go. Our team doesn't play USSSA but I would assume it would be the same for them. You also have to carry team/player insurance for each player. NSA has changed their insurance so that it only covers your players in NSA events only. However, ASA insurance will still cover you and your players in any event. The insurance and registration through ASA is approximately $13.00 per player. I don't know what they are in the other organizations. To register for any of the organizations, you just have to go to their websites and click on the register team button and it will give you instructions on who to contact and how to register your team. Also, as far as ASA goes, every coach in the dugout has to have an ASA completed background check (costs $20 and can be done on the website) done and depending on the tournament and where it is played, at least one coach has to have his ASA ACE certification completed and card hanging in the dugout during the tournament. I may be wrong on only the one coach being ACE certified because it may have changed this year. Some tournaments require all of the coaches in the dugout to be certified and their coaching cards hanging in the dugout so make sure you check the rules and regulations of every tournament you play in. Good Luck this season!

Yes....but you downed have to be what I would call "sanctioned" in each. We play mostly Utrip so we are santioned with them (insurance and etc). When we play ASA I have to pass their coaching course thing and anyone else working on the team has to pass a background check. Depending on how many, I think it totals just over $100. for the year.

Look online for the pres or admin for your region...there is alot of competition between them now, so I have found they all are extremely helpful for your business.

Yes you have to register for each. Registration is not too expensive, and should be budgeted into your team fees.
