This young lady has faced so much diversity during her college career, she must have the heart of a lion or should we say wildcat.

I wish her the best.

It is good to hear that she is feeling better. I like what coach Candrea said about using more then one pitcher, for giving batters different looks. Maybe that will start a new trend, instead of riding one pitcher for every game all year.

I never understood why college softball coaches would ride the coattails of one pitcher the whole time. If that is the case then why recruit pitchers. They need to do it just the same as in baseball. Have a couple of starters and some relievers. This why it will prevent a lot of injuries.

That is why UCLA has sucked for the past couple of years, trying to ride one pitcher all season and you see where that gets you. Gone are the says of Lisa Fernandez, Jennie Finch, etc, that could throw multiple games and not have issues.

The teams with truly dominant pitchers will continue to primarily use one pitcher.

Even the teams with a stud #1 pitcher will look for opportunities to give her a break. Now with 3 game series for conference play in many of the top conferences, they will only start 2 of those games, but be avail to close out any other games where needed. Also, many of the top teams will use up to 3 pitchers in the non-conference portion of the season. I think the most successful teams in the future will have a stud #1 and up to 2 very good pitchers to absorb innings.
