Bought a xeno in April, replaced in June, cracked again in August.

The replacement bat sent in June was stamped with an R on the end cap, which means the replacement bat, however defective, is no longer eligible for a warranty:

Louisville Slugger 24-hour Bat Return Form

What this means is the one-year warranty is no such thing, rather it means this.
For $250 you get two chances for them to find you a bat that is not defective in less than one year. If they fail twice to provide a durable bat, they are free to keep the cash, as far as they are concerned.

I've essentially rented two defective bats for about $125 a month. Being an adult I'm sure I should have realized this from reading their warranty, but I certainly did not.

Keep this in mind before buying any of their products.

I'm still hoping to return the thing for a refund, maybe the good folks at Visa will help here, but I'm appalled at what is considered standing behind "the bat that wrote the history of the game".

Its the same warranty that Demarini offers and enforced the same way by marking the replacement bat which is not warranteed to be free from defects .

Same as any other manufacturer. Anyone silly enough to buy a -11 or -12 CF5 and have it crack after a week or two can attest to this. Dimarini at least informs the owner "your kid is probably outperforming this bat, how about we send you a -9 or -10 instead?"

Hopefully the new Xeno's are more durable. Hopefully more coaches will understand that their players should not be taking BP off a machine with their game bat or using it under 60 degrees.

If the second one was "free from defects" then apparently it's not designed to contact a softball.

I was apparently naive about the 2 strikes warranty. Seems arrogant to assume any vendor couldn't build more than 2 crappy bats, particularly Louisville Smugger.

This is a 12yo swinging a -9, allegedly a HS/college bat.

Well, Support was very accommodating on the phone, well worth the call. Apparently CS is allowed more latitude than the web form would indicate.

Sending another bat with inbound shipping as well. Could have gone to a 2013, but not in the right weight. I'd prefer cash back, but she does love the things while they're intact.

They do claim the 2013 is more durable. Take that for whatever you want.

Not impressed with their Quality Control, but I have no complaints with support.

I ran into the same problem with Anderson bats. I'm not sure why they won't warranty the bat 12 months from the point of receipt, whether that is the original or replacement bat. I was actually thinking of purchasing a Xeno for my DD for next season. Maybe I will think twice....

Your warranty is good for one year from your original date of purchase. Therefore, your replacement bat is under warranty for the balance of the year from your original date of purchase. The one year warranty does NOT restart from the date you receive your replacement bat.

While there were some serious durability issues with the 2012 Xeno bats, Louisville Slugger has done an admiral job of providing replacements for defective bats IMHO.

Absolutely correct, you bought 12 months, you don't get to start over, nor would I expect that.

However, when you go to enter the web form to return the replacement, it states that the replacement bat fulfills the remainder of your warranty and cannot be returned. This was the stop sign that set off my original rant.

In spite of my tantrum at the start of this post, I have to agree with this as well.

IF their stated policy on the website matched what they were very quick to do for me when I called, I'd have never posted at all.

It's a risk v. reward trade off. A bat that is guaranteed to never break would have as much pop as a log. Regardless of manufacturer, realistically we need to recognize that a 1 year warranty is pretty reasonable after 12U for an object weighing less than 2 pounds that is used intentionally and maliciously to hit an object traveling at 50-70 mph as hard as possible, hundreds or several thousand times! And FWIW, IMO, Anderson's CS hands down is the best in the business. Perid.
