The 2 major padded gloves are Xprotex and Palmgard. I don't even know if they make them in women and youth sizes. Honestly, you're better off buying a better catchers mitt.

XproteX Reaktor glove. They make them in youth and women's sizes. DD, who is a Catcher, will not be on the field without it even though she has a top of the line mitt. It helps with absorbing the sweat and keeping the mitt from stinking to high Heavan.

Thanks guys, DD uses two different Vincis, so don't need a better mitt lol, just looking at options for an even improved experience when she's doin what she loves to do. Thanks coach for the info, was glad to see the model you suggested wasn't the $60 model ha ha!

If your dd is using Vinci mitts, then what's the purpose of using a padded glove? Vinci's have tons of padding and a padded glove should not be necessary if she's catching the ball properly. If it's a moisture wicking issue, I would suggest a non-padded glove.

Dd uses a vinci, catches several upper 60 catchers and one last spring and summer that was over 70. She had sore, numb, and often thought sprained fingers. Her biggest problem was she could not feel the bat in her fingers. I wanted her to switch to a 34" vinci, she refused. As far as catching...she has things she could improve on as everyone does, but I (and many) don't believe there are many others better at receiving. She got the xprotex a couple months ago, and has no pain since. (Many mlb catchers and many fielders wear gloves under their mitt).

My dd, also a good receiver, caught mid-60's pitchers with no numbness, soreness or sprains. She used a Capire Kip Leather 34" mitt. The exta inch does help. Also, her index finger is out of the mitt and on the padded finger rest.

One other point to note... One of the first topics I cover with new catchers is how to put on their glove. (Sounds silly I know) But the fact is that approximately 95% of baseball and softball catchers do not know about or properly adjust the leather loop inside the glove for their thumb. If not used at all or used improperly, your catcher's thumb will rest right in the middle of the palm of the glove where the pitch is received. We have seen catchers break (split) the bone down the middle in their thumb when receiving high velocity pitches like this. Please make sure your catcher has their thumb inside the loop and the loop is cinched up tight enough to pull the thumb out of the palm area and behind the side padding. Properly adjusted, you should not be able to feel your thumb when pressing the palm area of the glove with your throwing hand.
