DD is 14, 5'7" (at the time of the pictures) and very thin. She has the 15.5" System 7, the Vela were too short. System 7 works great for her.

She has the white chest protector and Schutt(Vegas) helmet to help with heat

Looks great!

I have the opposite problem. Mine just turned 11 and is all of 4'5" if even that. Haven't been able to find a decent small set yet. The 12.5" are almost too small but the 13" are way too big.

It must be an optical illusion. The leg guards look so wide on your dd in the pics.

The 15.5" System 7 wraps around the sides of the calf more than the 14.5" Vela. In pics, it appears to be a difference in width, but that's not what I found comparing them side-by-side.

Sizing isn't consistent from manufacturer to manufacturer. If you have a retailer nearby with a good selection, have your DD try on everything she can. Another option is an online retailer with a good return policy. Order a few options, and send back the ones that don't work. I did that recently with Maddie's most recent chest protector decision (Homerun Monkey was my source). We found that the 14.5" All-Star chest was too big, and the 14.5" Wilson ProMotion chest was perfect.

It literally looks like your protecting Slim Jim's with drain pipe............lol.
