hello all,
My DD is a 12 almost 13 year old advanced catcher. I am looking for the best catchers mitt out there for under $200.
we prefer at least a 34" which is what she has now. Thanks in advance.

So Cal
"Best" is a personal preference. Vinci, All-Star, and Worth are probably who I'd put in my own top 3 for build quality and durability, but it turns out my DD's current preference is a Miz MVP-series mitt.

Thats a JVC-34 - Kip Leather , the top of the line Vinci model - Feed back I have got is that its best on the market for not feeling any sting on pitches - has a "pro pad" which gives it an extra layer to absorb the blows. requires a significant break in time due to the high quality leather. Tends to be a hair lighter then some of the other top of the line models due to the mesh back. If your interested in one, send me a message and I'll see what I can do on price-

Similar question: Daughter's '02 14U, played up to high school from 8th grade, etc. Seeing ever faster pitchers. Been using a cheaper Mizuno, needs a better glove as hers is worn out. Has a Vinci fielder's glove (can't remember model) she likes.

We've looked at the Wilson A2000 a bit and were close to buying one, but haven't yet. Didn't like the SL-Jane for many of the reasons I've seen posted here. She didn't like the Nokona.

Have not seen in person the Vinci, but she likes the H pattern web of her current mitt, and also wants to stay at 34". So it looks like she could only have one of those or the other with the way the Vinci line up works. To be honest, I don't know the arguments for each web type on a catcher's mitt, so don't know how much of a difference pocket actually makes. She might just be superstitious because that's all she's always used.

Another option is the Worth Liberty Advanced (LACMGW) that seem to be on close out now due to the brand shift to Rawlings. These gloves seem OK, and the bonus is they're $100 online right now. Opinions on those?

Also haven't looked at the higher end Mizuno stuff. I have seen mixed reviews of the mitts with thumb guards. She really hasn't jammed a thumb since early 12U, so it's not a big selling point to us.

Thoughts? Is the Worth Liberty Advanced just a really good deal now due to brand machinations, or would one of the more expensive Vinci, Wilson, or Mizuno's be significantly better? Of course, a lot of this depends on what fits her, but trying to make high level cuts before trying to find some of these that aren't in local stock around town.

The Liberty Advanced series was used by Worth-sponsored college teams. The Worth LA catcher's mitt is really good, and for $100, it's a steal. The only mitt I've come across with more padding is Vinci.
