Hey guys I'm sure it's been discussed ad nauseum , but I am going to need a glove for my DD. She will be starting high school in the fall. Her current glove is a Diamond iX3 Fi325. It is a 32.5" glove. She loves this glove and plays well with it. I want to get something for her to use after this one , have it broken in and standing by. My feeling is that even though her current glove is holding up remarkably well , it may still be a "kids" style/type glove. She has had it for 3 or so years. Prefer a smaller lighter glove. I have read many of the posts in this section of the forum , figured maybe opinions have changed since the last time this was discussed . Thanks.

The best thing is to try as many as possible and go with what feels best. What works great for my DD might be totally wrong for yours. There are a lot of good mitts available.

Also...What is your budget?

I figure to spend over 200.00 but less than 300.00 for a good glove. I went today to check out some gloves. The mom and pop store with 100+ gloves on the wall and 30 years experience selling gloves has been bought out by some guy trying to make a buck , even if it means your kid is in the wrong glove.Kept pushing these gloves that were man size and cheap. I use to drive by sports authority , sports chalet , and dicks sporting goods to go to that mom and pop shop...... How times have changed. I have honestly never once looked at gloves in a major sporting goods chain. Are there some nice ones to be had or mostly middle of the road types? I am partial to Kelley gloves , their higher end fielders gloves (11"-11.5" ) are the best for the price, their catchers gloves not so much.

When you talk about that size I think Nokona CM275, well known for that glove-as-extension-of-the-hand thing. IIRC Vinci makes a similar glove with more padding.

At that price range, everything will be very good and - again - comes to a matter of personal preference.

My DD has used 2 Mizunos, a Vinci, and is currently using an Akadema. For her, the Vinci was a complete mis-match. Vinci makes a very high quality product, it just wan't compatible with my DD, and has since found a happy home elsewhere.

In addition to the mitts already mentioned, others worth looking at are the All-Star CWM3000 & CWM4000, and the Worth Liberty Advanced.

:) My daughter benefited from Eric's DD Vinci. She was using a Mizuno (33 inches) previously.

Just as an aside, the All-Star CWM 3000 has more palm padding than the CWM4000.
