Slightly inspired by the Amanda Sanchez thread but geared towards the catchers out there because they are a different breed of players. Please feel free to post their "war wounds" to show people just how really tough these girls are.

This past Sunday Tournament, DD had a past ball that hit the umps foot and deflected a few feet away from DD. Aggressive 3rd base runner attempts to steel home. DD quickly recovers the ball and full on dives on top on home plate to make the tag. Runner slides into DD all the way up her arm witg her cleats. Thank goodness DD is in 10U and no metal cleats yet.

No wounds to show, but I fell down, tonight. I was waiting on my student and i was pitching into the fence. Next thing I know, I am about to fall on my face. Then, my shoulder hit the ground, I did a flip and landed on my back. Just then, the girl and her mother walk onto the field and the mom says "Did you fall down?" LOL "No I decided to lay here in the dirt."

Since it was cool in Tucson (79 degrees) I had on jeans and a long sleeved shirt, so no scrapes. I wonder if i will be able to get out of bed, in the morning, though?

I don't tend to take pics of all her bumps and bruises, but I did get this small "Badge of Honor" from a game last fall...

I was going to mention in the other thread I used to get hit alot more on my bicep area (and inside thighs) than my wrist regarding those wrist protectors.

The wrist protectors give my DD an extra dose of comfort and confidence to block pitches. At 10yo, if it makes her more confident, I don't have an issue with it. Besides, she does take one off the inside of the wrist from time to time.

Not a good picture, but trying to maintain some anonymity here. :) Bad hop from throwdown to 2B (DD was playing SS during practice)...she was the envy of most of her teammates!! :)
