My daughter is 11 and moving up to the 12U level this year.
She currently has a 34" Mizuno GXS92DRG (black w/neon green trim) and she
handles it beautifully. She was just recruited for a 12U elite team in NH. She is very tall for her age.
At tryouts she said her hand hurt because the pitchers are throwing around 50+mph.

I am looking for a new 34" catchers mitt with good padding. less that $175 preferably.
the ones listed below seem to be the best options, what do you think.
I appreciate any help.

Mizuno Classic Fastpitch, such as the GXS33 are built on the same pattern as the other 34.5" gloves, but a tad better materials and a longer break-in period.
Since you put a pretty healthy price out there, take a look at the Worth Liberty as well.

Contact DFP member CaseDawg via private message about a Vinci in your price range. Casey hooked my college DD up w/ Vinci's top of the line mitt, the JCV-VM, and she loves it (and uses it without the need for any inner glove). The JCV-22 might be a better option given its smaller size and your DD's age. Talk to Casey and he'll give you the straight scoop!

12 year old DD just got a JCV-22 to replace her loaner Mizuno GXC93 and loves it.
She wanted something with more padding...
Moved up to 14U and was catching pitcher 50mph+ with no problem or pain!

The JCV-22 breaks in faster and I believe is lighter than the JCV-VM.

Got this from CaseDawg.

thanks for the help. Does the JCV-22 come in 34"? I really need a 34". Also, are there any good websites where I can see the full vinci collection I haven't been able to find much. Are these gloves new? thanks again

DD has a 34" Vinci JCV-VM. It may be slightly heavier than the JCV-22 but it is still by far lighter than any comparable sized mitt. It handles like a much smaller glove and is extremely durable. I have caught mid to upper 50's pitchers with it and with a mis-caught ball, don't feel a thing. They are iincredible gloves.
