How did everyone do this weekend?

We stunk it up at the USSSA fall world series. Not really, pitching and defense were great. Our bats were just very sleepy. Time change must've gotten to them. DD hit well though (545) and pitched 11 of 19 innings, with 4 earned runs total. She had a pretty good weekend even if we didn't go very deep into the tournament. We lost our 1st bracket, won the 2nd, lost the 3rd.

What I'm most proud of I think is the mental stuff though. It's so hard to shake her. And as competitive as she is and as much as she puts 100% effort into playing the game, once it's over she shakes off the losses so quickly. She and her BFF, who is also her catcher, were off goofing around and laughing just a few minutes after the loss that sent us home. I love how the kids can keep things in perspective. It's a game, just one game of many they'll have the opportunity to play over the years.

Last game of the regular rec season on Saturday - started out slow and we were actually behind 3-4 in the 4th inning. Ended up winning 13-5 to make our record 12-1-1.
DD pitched 2 innings - 3 strike outs. Went 3-3, two went to the outfield. End of Season tourney starts tonight so we'll see how that goes.

Thanks to some good advice from folks on this board, I've corrected my pitching woes and the girls are hitting again. My DD shined via the glove this weekend. Couple of good stops at first. Took one on the chin when I moved her to third. But everyone keep praising her for the good form. Hard grounded to third, she squared up and the ball just rolled up her glove into the chin. Scared her more than anything. Within minutes she was back on the field. Her bat got a homerun as well. lol.

After a nearly 8 hour drive yesterday, we arrived at DD's 1st choice for her official visit. We caught a basketball game on campus, got some dinner and then settled into the hotel. Looking forward to the campus tour and 3 hour meeting with the coach today. Fingers crossed...

DD's team won the 12u Gold division fall league play-offs. DD was coming back from an injury and hadn't batted in a game since late July. She went 5 for 6 yesterday, 6 for 9 for the weekend, putting the ball in play every at bat. Yesterday they gave up 4 runs the first inning of the semi-finals, then held their opponents scoreless for the rest of the day.

DD still looking like a rec player on her fantastic new team, but she is having a great time! She played a fair amount though so that was good. Hoping her bat comes out of hiatus soon so she can show these people she can hit!

DD played this weekend in a showcase tournament. They made it to the semi-finals and lost to a great and well known organization who had an amazing pitcher who pitched a no hitter. Shout out to her. Dominique held her own in the first 3 inning but got tired and sloppy in the 4th. We really needed our other pitcher but she was too sore to come in to pitch. Dominique ended up pitching 2 complete games, back to back without a break…a total of 4 complete games this weekend. Needless to say, her entire body is sore.
We heard back from a division III college and a different college team was filming dd pitching.
She also got a game MVP….and she was cheesing ever since then.LOL

Final triple header of the fall. Won all 3. Dd played in 2 of them and went 5 for 7 with 7 RBI. Pitched the third game, a shut out.
