I haven't posted in the brag forum yet. Yesterday was probably my proudest moment with my DD#1. She came home with her induction information for the National Junior Honor Society. She plays three sports at school on top of travel ball and lessons yet she still maintains great grades. I struggled playing one sport a year.

She asked what I was most excited about last night, her shot at playing varsity as a 7th grader or the honor society. I explained the honor society was a much bigger deal. Academics will open a lot more doors for her than softball ever will. I told her it is also a reflection on her work ethic which will help her long after softball is over. I did also let her know her grades will open softball opportunities that she otherwise may not get. I think that increased her excitement and hopefully will help keep her motivated.

That is a great 1st bragging post. Congrats to you and DD1 and agree with the Academics. I'm slow rolling my first week here before I start with my kiddo! :)

Congrats to your daughter! Question does your state allow 7th graders to play varsity and not lose eligibility in high school? For our state you only get four years so playing in 7th grade would lose her 2 years during high school.

Yes they can play 7th-12th. It happens more at the small high schools in rural areas just because of numbers. Our 1A schools have enrollments of around 50 to 150 in 9th-12th so they need all the help they can get so I would bet they allow playing up for them. At larger schools like ours girls in the MS can play for the HS they feed in to.
