Last weekend My older DD was at a exposure Tournament, During the weekend the scouts and coaches picked out players that they wanted to see more of and hand picked an all star team, My DD was chosen to start in the circle for team BYU coached by the BYU pitching Coach, She did a great job allowing only a couple of runs in 4 innings of work against a murderers row of Bats, she is a sophomore and they were mostly seniors. She also went two for two at the plate in that game but that is not what I'm most proud of. What blew me away was in the first inning the second basemen most likely due to nerves made two errors which should have been easy outs. now runners on 1 and two with one out, after the second one she called time walked over the player picked up a hand full of dirt from the infield and looked her in the eye and said this dirt represents all self doubt and errors. then she threw it off to the side and told her its all gone and there is nobody she would rather have her back, and went back to the circle. Next batter second pitch grounder to second, great backhand grab tag the runner advancing to second and throw out at first ,double play. out of the inning. About 5 coaches came up to her and told her that was the kind of thing they look for most. So proud Of that kid for knowing Stats don't always make the most sought after players.

The little thing in this story HAS to be the amazing performance she did. Great job working with your DD on her character. It's the moments you can't coach up.....they are so telling.

Hey, don't downplay the stats. Those were pretty good, too!
