This is going to sound a little crazy, but it will work. We always do at least one BP session where we learn how to get hit by a pitch. It's definitely a skill that should be coached. Get her a decent first base mitt. It's a lot larger than a FP catchers mitt making it easier for a new catcher to get her glove on the ball. Easton Mako Catchers Helmet
DD has been wearing her Mako helmet for 2 seasons now. She tried on at least a dozen makes/models before selecting it. It seems a lot lighter than the others she tried. At the time Easton didn't make a comparable FP model to match the Mako gear.- Coach Jim

11" to 12" ball
The sooner you can start using the 12" ball the better. We had a lot of girls complain of muscle pain in their forearm for a few weeks after moving to the 12" ball. Any suggestions in switching from 11 in to 12 in ball.
