Great read Ken thx. It is not that I dont understand what some are saying or why spin axis is important. I just dont totally agree with the fact that some actually go up. Java mentioned I think 3 kids in all of that only because the best rise balls are RARE. Where I live in a big metro city...
Then why does spin axis matter? When you get to a certain speed (not exactly what that is) assuming you are somewhere between bullet and back spin at 35 or so feet at release, the ball is not going to drop so why does spin orientation matter?
So once again I agree with most of what you are saying. The only problem with the camps is you cant see how a kid competes and handles failing and succeeding for that matter in a combine situation. Other than that i agree. Colorado for us is 8 hours away. We have been 3 times. We enjoy it there...
Although we do not agree on some things Riseball I believe your post is right on. The other posts not so much. IDT is clearly the hardest to get in to but not at this stage a clear cut "best" of the best. The Fireworks power pool was absolutely loaded with great and top rated 16U teams. There...
Please dont stop! The first thing I do when I come home from work is not a beer or dinner. It is DFP and these threads. Absolutely the most entertaining part of my day.
Please explain then how a guy can throw a ball downhill maybe waist high and a ball reaches at least head high? Granted these were men with 90+ MPH type arms.
To me it "looks" like some rise maybe 1 out of 10-15 girls that throw it. I could be convinced that it is an illusion. I will say 100% you can make a softball rise throwing overhand from the outfield so not sure why you cant do it from pitching. I know of guys that I have witnessed throw a ball...
8-9 ballgames are not fun to watch imo. The strategy of the game has evolved to wait for a belt high pitch and hammer it. Balls on the outer black getting pulled out of the park.. Come on man.
My problem is most have singled out 2 or 3 kids when there are 20 kids in high level D1 illegal at some level and D2 and NAIA they are everywhere. I hear you before you say it RB, that doesnt make it legal or OK. That is fair. I still ask why doesnt the home teams coaches have the same pull as...
Sorry Ladies and Gentleman I just aint buying it. If the home team had enough pull to get umpires to look the other way they would also have enough pull to get the calls when these teams traveled ( Kentucky's umpires ).. It goes much higher than the umpires. Also why isnt these broadcasters...
If these SEC coaches or the any coaches for that matter thought that Florida and the others were making a travesty or a mockery out of this game ( still a joke to me ) there would be at least a whisper of this somewhere... There isnt.
