Problems with a Former coach
well, you let other parents dictate to you who should or shouldnt be involved with the team. you cant selectively put your foot down , even with cause, if you are allowing other parents to threaten you with leaving. you run the team or you dont. good luck.- hacksaw

Where does Yukiko Ueno rank among the all-time greats?
joan joyce. not even close. you can only rate players vs the competition of the time. you would also be wrong to say todays equipment makes a player better then one from a previous era. take todays great player and put her in the "white ball" or whatever yo want to call it era. good luck...- hacksaw

Xeno or LXT....
my 18yo wont pick up anything thats not a zeno. she is a strong line drive hitter with power and bat speed. she hits 220 home runs maybe 2ft above the fence and well beyond it. loves zeno. she is 5-6 and 130lbs. hits he ball as hard as anyone. my younger one uses dimarini. go figure.- hacksaw

What is the average player turnover for a softball organization?
too many teams. 11 players maybe 12 ona roster. i realize some 18u national teams carry maybe 16. but thats because they dont all normally show. i dont like the trend of split age teams. there are too many of them and it dilutes the team talent. i wish half of say 2 12u teams would combine...- hacksaw

12u asked to pitch 14 showcase
i am not a fan of playing up. in your case much depends upon if the team is actually 13u or 14u. no matter how good a player is, they need to be surrounded by kids their own age to really enjoy there games. my problem here is the lack of good 12u teams. my girl has played 5 yrs of travel ball...- hacksaw

seriously. my older girl is a 15u playing on a 18u showcase team. on a team of same aged girls, she is usually the best or close to it , player on the team. including high school where she started as a freshman. she is currently playing 3rd base but is more normally a ss. we have been attending...- hacksaw

Lack of speed & agility is concerning...
my question is, why didn't the OP attend a few diff tryouts to gauge the make up of various teams before signing her on to the one in question? especially being a coach himself, he should have had a clue before hand what this team offered. not trying to be a nay sayer. but i have spent so much...- hacksaw

Do you prefer to rotate subs or sit girls for an entire game
on my girls 14u showcase team, they play 16u showcases, they rotate way too much. 13 originally we are down to 12. I don't like the rotating. and with mercy rules some kids only get a half inning anyway.- hacksaw

HS team attendance and planned events/appointments
my DD was benched today for missing practice. she was in bed sick. slept all day to where I periodicly poked her to make sure she was still alive. USA Elite Select Futures evals
we tried out twice. this last time we got slammed on DD's hitting. said she didnt have an erect enuff stance. got the lowest hitting numbers in her age group. BS! she is a low ball hitter and the leading hitter on a good team. she hit well over .700 in the regional world series in ocean beach...- hacksaw
