Pre-Motion
Amy, again thanks for your response and it is appreciated. She has a pre-warm up motion where she doesn't go above the head. When She loads up above the head she then shifts her weight to her bent knee which then she uses to explode forward. I know what you are saying...keep it...
Boardmember,
Thanks for chiming in...optimizing the whip: I will look into her ball positioning during windup and release, but I am a visual learner and I will have to lookup those images to see a comparable. Thanks again for your comments. will work on it.
reply - thanks!
Corlay and Amy:
Thanks for your response! I do notice her stride finishing with hunch and have been working on it. I think it might have to do with her drag foot over extending. I agree with you Amy n Corlay that we have to step back and work on Mechanics.
Somewhere in this forum I remember somone referred to your drag foot being an anchor that might hinder the momentum of your body. Coincidently, my DD's drag foot shoe came home yesterday almost bare! I am going to take a picture of it today n show it because I think she might be just...
FrozenRope, Thanks for your input, I had been looking at the GoPro video camera they have at BestBuy but it is sold out in all the local stores. I am looking into this Kodak Play now, seems more afforable and will do they same thing.
What "Fun" things do you do to mix it up?
I agree with Carly that there really is no timeline in progression, and those that with Phenom pitchers that just pick it up one day to the next are just the exception and not should not be compared with. The kid just has it. However, I am glad that those that shared their experience in early...
Thanks for all your posts. I'm not expecting instant success and I am weary of any PC that claims that. Nothing is given, everything must be earned. Nice to know all your thoughts n comments.
So you are saying they that in the early months it is better for her not pitch? cause she has not.
I asked her PC and he advised that we should waith until a couple more months. Ive seen far worse pitchers than what my DD is like now and wondered if game time experience would be more advantageous.
Anything out there as a standard timeline to see improvement in young pitchers? My daughter is her second month of pitching lessons and wanted to see by when should I see more consistency in strikes and speed development. Right now she is pitching 35mph and throwing 50 strikes and 70 balls in...
Screwball do not be discouraged. This is an online forum and take it for what it is. I find a lot of comments here informative but I do not take them for its full face value. Its just like Ralph when he was trying to learn karate from a book. There is nothing like the real thing. There are lots...
There aren't enough pitching instructors in my area and the ones that do teach either hello elbow or have long waiting list. I personally like the back and forth between boardmember and screwball and the truth is if I were in their neck of the woods, I wouldn't waste any time in taking my dd to...
Probably the greatest benefit is that you don't have to chase after batted balls once they swing. Also, the path of ball and the distance it goes helps you see how well the batter is swinging.
So many things in play here, what was the score? How did the other bench players look like? How was starting 2b playing? Where I am from, everyone with uniform has to play at least one inning.
