    Circle violation question

I have this issue with umpires in my area. I always ask them before the game how they call it so I can let my players know that is how it will be called. If they say the runner must continue to 2nd or they are out, I will point out that the look back rule is in effect and they are allowed one...

    Illegal pitch and TV commentators

It seems to me that if they are not being called during the regular season then they shouldn't start calling it in conference tournaments and the WCWS. You have to stop it before it starts. Women who have been allowed to do that all season can't suddenly be told to change in the tournaments...

    Axe Bats

My daughter has a LS Xeno 32/21 that i bought from Core last year. I am looking to get her a new bat and bummed to learn about his issues with Wilson. He was very helpful in determining this was the bat to get. I elarned more from him on the phone than at a store trying different bats. Anyway...

    Axe Bats

I work just a block from Fenway Park. I will see if they have any or one can be ordered

    Axe Bats

I was concerned about being forced to hit on one spot as well. I read on other posts about turning the bat (any manufacturer) so you aren't constantly hitting in the same spot and damaging the bat. So I will stay away from this. Thanks for the replies. And the jokes about Cookie Betts.

    Axe Bats

Sorry for creating a new post. I couldn't see how I could edit the title in my previous post. I did a search on the site and didn't see anything about Axe bats. Does anyone know anything about them. I think they are big in baseball. Mookie Betts endorses them (a star here in Boston). The club...

    Axe bats

Damn spellcheck. Cookie is Mookie's brother. That should have also been Axe bats, not Axis. Yikes! I better read my posts before moving on.

    Axe bats

OK. Lets try this again. Everything is spelled correctly now...I hope I did a search on the site and didn't see anything about Axe bats. Does anyone know anything about them. I think they are big in baseball. Mookie Betts endorses them (a star here in Boston). The club my daughter plays for...

    Bunt coverage differences

Why do so many coaches refuse to let the pitcher be a fielder? In most cases they are good athletes quite capable of fielding bunts, pop ups and ground balls. It bothers me in both softball and baseball that pitchers are expected to stand back or get out of the way instead of being allowed to...

    Catcher interference

This hitter lunged backwards a lot. I don't think she was doing anything intentional. As I said, the catcher did not move forward to catch the ball. There were n o issues, none even close with any other hitter prior to this one. She was in the usual catchers position. If she got hit in the glove...

    Catcher interference

We had an incident tonight where a hitter had two strikes on her. The next pitch came in, on the outside corner for strike three. However, the hitter lunged back (rather than to the outside corner) and struck the catcher in the arm just above the elbow. The catcher had just caught the ball and...

coaches have to cheat to win

Around our way continuation means a girl who was just walked advances to 1st and continues on to 2B. Usually but not always with a runner on 3B. The problem in my area is that umpires have differing interpretation of this. Some say once the runner turns 1st they have to proceed to 2nd. Others...

    LS Xeno thoughts

Sorry for sounding naive here, but how do you break in a bat? I recently purchased a Louisville Xeno from Core (definitely the best deal out there). My daughter only plays town and town travel so she isn't playing more than two games a week and practicing 1-2 other days. So how do we go about...

coaches have to cheat to win

I always ask away umpires for their interpretation of the continuation rule because most of them have it wrong. But I want to know how they rule it and play accordingly.

    Ball in circle

We've had umpires in my area call runners out for stopping. I've told them they have one stop, that its part of the LBR and they are adamant about they cannot stop. I believe its part of rule 8.7 something in ASA

Dropped "pitch"... ball or no pitch?

I would think its a ball the moment the ball touches the ground. Shouldn't matter if it reaches the foul line or not. The ump was probably just waiting to see if anyone was going to get the ball

    Is this really beneficial??

Maybe he thought she was trying to hit a HR the time she struck out and this was his way of trying to get her to concentrate just on hitting and not trying to hit a HR. Some kids think that if they could hit it over the fence once then they should be able to do it all the time. You have to...

ASA- batter out of box before pitcher delivers pitch

The Auburn girl who made the final out in last nights WCWS game did the same thing but with the line farthest from home. She was a slap hitter so she probably wanted the extra space for her step. It appeared that the umpire made her step in the box before he allowed a pitch. Her heels were...
