Haven't posted in a while, but as a final awareness of lag, it is a combination of tension levels in the grip, wrists, and forearms, and the weight of the bat. IMOP
Arod in the vid says a golf ball goes up because of a Ferris wheel swing. If you base your teaching on such a False statement the whole thing falls apart. It is SO BAD. Squaring up at full extension with the hands travelling down, Tilt or not, squishing bugs, all of it is so bad.
Its a...
I haven't been around a while but this vid showed up on my phone.
A golf ball does not go up because of a Ferris wheel swing. The club has a Pitch on it so it will go up. Try hitting a one iron and getting the ball in the air, lol.
Point being some of his statements are incorrect...
Is "go" when the hands decide they know where the ball is? Does "slot" happen as part of "go"? I agree on the move out, and prepping the body to swing, really important. I will try to be more clear on my hands and go. in a hurry right now.
thanks very much Rolling, so many voids to fill in my understanding. i talk to my friend a golf pro about lag quite often, and he likes the elbow leading also. Since he says it is a very important component of the golf swing for speed, i am assuming it is important in the baseball softball...
Short hands video. i just spent time drawing dots on swings. There are some issues with this video, and what he wants done. It appears to be relative to pitch locations and swing adjustments, (offspeed),
Kinda goes back to launch and guide, or barrel dumping to soon...
YES! In this clip i realized what some were talking about when they said "the scap gets loaded" Im thinking that if you let it "get loaded" it maintains the whip effect, as apposed to a pre clamp option.
Pretty sure its not what they meant, lol,
What is your definition of a push swing?
Not what the u tube guy says?
Pretty sure Ted Williams said His swing and other MLb players swings were push swings. i could be wrong and i will retract if so. Parker also said the swing was a...
I can understand that. In my mind a throw is not a bad analogy;
I myself still consider it more of a punch.
But instead of one arm, i use more structure, (hitters box) front elbow...
Is this "pushing"
I understand the similarities to throwing, but try to throw something without your elbow leading your hand. That would be push.
The front arm pulls, the back arm must push out does it not? With force.
And i must add, most youth will Throw the bat at the ball. Very...
Hitting the ball hard is also what the youth wants. You can hit the ball hard with a partial swing, especially launch, but i have used SNF instead with newbie hitters in place of launch.
Such as with this girl. She is actually doing a "hand path" direction drill to stay on top of...
Ive worn your shoes julray. i have two dds . And have to fix swings of 18 or more every year in a short time, for more than 15 years. Its a journey, as much for us as our DDs.
I tend to start with hand bat path, and add lower work later.
Tee work middle in, low, high...
