Check into Applebees as well for doing a pancake breakfast. I know they all did them in our area. Sell tickets for whatever you want ( say 7.00 dollars ) your girls serve and help cleanup, along with parent supervisors. They provided eggs, pancakes, juice, and coffee.
You keep all of the money...
Here's one we did for the High School season last year
FootballMania - a unique fundraiser based on the excitement of football
I think we raised about 10,000 or so between football and baseball mania.
It's one of the those that seemed too good to be true but actually was true.
In brief -...
Have to laugh at this one. DD called last night and was telling us of the whole team drinking chocolate milk after morning and afternoon workouts.
They love it.
As an aside for Tom -
John Tschida UST, probably one the top 10 coaches in the U.S. or even the world is a very strong proponent of integrating the golf and baseball swing.
Not to link the two threads but I would like see a few people, namely the ones that chase each from board to board arguing essentially the same points address -
Sorry I can't give you Gospel on this but it should be close -
If it's ASA once the team she is currently rostered on has been eliminated from championship play, possibly her State tournament, if there are berths to ASA Nationals and her team does not qualify, she would be eligible as a pick up...
I haven't seen a resident ump here for rule questions but you will find them here ..
Softball - The Official Forum
Please be respectful if you post. A lot of great information is found here but it is an officials forum.
Sorry, but I usually get a bit skeptical when a young pitcher is able to throw different pitches with the correct spin. Fastball/change, sure. Drop/curve/screw ? I...dunno. Could be I guess. All three of those pitches are potential arm killers when not thrown correctly. By arm killer, I mean...
I think you would find a number of different answers to this question as every pitcher may be unique as to how or what works for them as a warm up.
My DD's warm up would go something like -
Overhand throwing for as long as she wants. Usually start fairly close and progressively back up a...
Not sure what the issue would be here but this girl sounds like she's done before she's done warming up, if she's able to warm up at all.
What is her warm up routine ?
Have you talked with her parents ? They must know what's going on with her pain. If they're letting her continue throwing...
Since the game was only going into the 5th at the two hour mark I assume the level of competition is not that high ?
If there wasn't anything on the line like a championship, berth, or otherwise what's the point really ?
I understand you have what sounds like a legimate issue within your...
I believe with ASA changing the distance for 18U A to 43' this year that the NFHS will follow suit and they will be at 43' next year.
Bat standards have changed. An additional test has been added. The " hot " bat will be a thing of the past. Bats will now be tested after they are broken in...
I'd like to see a discussion about knees, feet, and ankles, that revolves around good, supportive, footware for athletes. All too often this is where problems begin as silly as it sounds. Flip-flops, sandles, and Lord know what else girls put on their feet are sooo bad for their legs. This is...
Ok .. step right up, argue with Ernie Parker. Go ahead. :)
Good to see you posting Ernie. I hope you're in good health and happy in Tennessee.
The bottom line here folks isn't whether it rises or not it's how effective of a pitch is it and where can your daughter learn to throw it properly. My...
Our daughter will be a pitcher for a Division One program in 2008.
Travel to the right tournaments, contact the coaches through various methods, email, written letters, videos, profiles, going to camps, all that fun stuff.
That's the hard part to figure out. What to put in a letter, how to...
