Candrea made a cutesy video for the Olympic team.

As I said in my post (if you read the post), I have the kids line up about 20 feet from me. I choke up on the bat, and I softly hit ground balls to them.
I did...
That's the main reason I'm here.
We need a simple instruction manual so coaches can get rec-level kids throwing the ball for strikes. The basics of underhand pitching are not hard (the advanced stuff is).
Hitting balls to them significantly improves their in-game performance.
Why?
1. You're trying to teach catching hit balls, not cathing rolled balls.
2. Kids learn to move as soon as the ball hits the bat rather than after the ball starts rolling.
3. Kids learn to watch the ball hit the bat...
The only "fix" is through lots and lots of practice.
A good D1 pitcher can move the ball in 4" (a ball width) increments from left to right and up and down. You can't teach her to do that. She has to teach herself how to do it.
(The math: The plate is 17" wide. Your DD is 480" from the...
Not quite the same. My DD#2 (not softball or basketball player) played water polo. The refs in water polo walk along the side of the pool. So, they have a very limited view of what's going on under the surface.
My DD had to wear two bathing suits during games. Players on the opposing team...
The game was probably horrible to watch and officiate.
BUT: If the coach on the losing team was good (although obviously lacking in softball knowledge), she could still make it a positive experience.
You're right. There doesn't seem to be much dispute that transgenders can have an advantage at high levels. At the lower levels, I can't see turning away children who want to play a sport.
People seem to have the discussion mostly within the navigational buoys. It was interesting.
I've noticed that people who are pounding the table against transgender inclusion immediately cite problems with high-level competition.
However, they avoid the much more difficult and common issue of transgender children playing low-level sports.
In 12U rec level youth sports, I agree with you. Co-ed sports are so common now. Who cares?
It gets a lot more dicey as the level of play increases.
E.g., Caitlin Clark was offered 5 million dollars after college. She's a great women's basketball player, but there are hundreds of male...
Youth sports is one thing. Some 10YOA kid comes up to me and asks to play softball, it would be hard for me to say "No."
Where big money is involved, the whole thing becomes very complicated.
Would some people take dangerous drugs simply to get a fat paycheck? Lance Armstrong, Ron Guidry...
We are not going to argue whether transitioning should be allowed.
You're stating conclusions without providing any reasons. Simply saying, "it's wrong because it's wrong" isn't an argument. Again, there is no scientific proof *as of yet* that transitioning males after a year have an advantage...
You might want to read the scientific articles. There is no proof *YET* that there is an advantage. There may be proof in the future, but not today.

Whether you agree with the other side or not, it might be helpful to understand their position.
The vast majority of people who play sports are mediocre. They play sports to compete and for fellowship with other players, not to win. After all, sports are supposed to be about learning...
I don't know where I come out on this issue. It's difficult.
I assume you believe, like me, that athletic competition is a valuable experience for children and adults. It's hard for me to exclude kids from playing sports.
On the other hand, it takes about a year for the hormones to...
