My only fear is with her mother loving for anything, she's going to get hurt. Trust me, at this age I'm not worried about them being aces. But if a ball is about to hit you, I'm hoping they'll at least move out of the way. She doesn't even react to that in a game so I'm worried because she's had...
Hi,
I need some creative drills, please. We have a 7yo who will not go after the ball during live play. During practice when she knows it's expected, she fields pretty well and semi-attacks the ball. In a game, she's checked out and when a ball comes her way, her head isn't even turning to...
Help me settle a debate, please. Our season os about to start up. I was speaking to another coach and shared that I want to start from the basics and teach the girls how to hold the softball properly. The other coach think it's a waste of time, that they'll hold it like they hold it and we go...
-Confirm all teams
-Keep on top of the weather and determine what time a message would be sent by
-Do you have concessions to worry about?
Oh and nets and balls for warm up!
Game balls
I'm a wooden bat person. Always have been. I've had my hands on some awesome aluminum and composite bats but still love the feel of the wooden.
As a coach, I use a wooden bat to hit balls to the field. Some of my girls have tried my bat and like the feel.
My question: Is there any issue with...

Practice 1: Align on basic terminology and proper fielding stances and batting stances
Practice 2: Focus on fielding and batting
Or do you figure it out as you go?

I'm a big proponent of leading with kindness. Maybe I'm too nice, who knows. I have been known to set up a net or share balls with the opposing team. Personally, I'd let then use it as well but I would make sure the use was strategic so my girls were warmed up as we were heading into the game...
My confusion comes in over the above statement. You started it. You get to define the mission statement. Some rogue coach doesn't get to change the goals on you.
The above sounds like you have made this whole thing happen and now someone else is trying to usurp your original mission. And based...
I totally get it from the outsider stance. It moves the game along. My major concern is that there are other 10u teams who have pitchers that pitch the whole time and does this do a disservice to my team if we are "rescuing" the pitchers every time?
To be honest, I go back and forth on the topic.
