    Would this technically be an endless stalemate if the runner never went back to 3rd and the catcher never tried to tag her?

    How many other sports allow a coach to do random stuff to waste time to run the game clock like softball does in these drop deads, though? There would need to be some sort of way to fix that (i.e. soccer's bonus time) to fix that.

    If I recall correctly from one of the umpire threads, one of the markers to look for on whether a pitch is replant or not was based on where the arm was when the back foot landed. That seems like it would impact the arm mechanics at least somewhat.

    If you youtube mens softball pitchers, you just get a bunch of gentlemen that are walking a fine line between leaping and crow hopping, so if they (as its been mentioned here multiple times) kind of ignore the legality issues of a crow hopping in mens fastpitch, it seems it'd be less beneficial...

    If the Oklahoma runner had not tried to lean back away from contact and instead pulverized the catcher that didn't have the ball (without going as far as malicious intent) thus causing her to not catch it, what would the call have been?

    Rec Leagues Practices&Games/Week?

    I've seen many girls move associations within a rec league to a better team for a variety of reasons (coaching, playing time, quality of teammates). I've also seen girls move rec leagues to be able to play up, because some places forbid it regardless of skill level.

    It seems to be mentioned a lot that fully paid scholarships for softball are pretty rare, so if they have to pay for some out of pocket then out of state is way more expensive, no?

    Raises an interesting question of what's more important to speed: front-side resistance or being able to pitch without momentum from an extra couple feet closer to the plate?

    I'm biased but this is the Pitching sub-forum... I think even pitching-only is way more fun than batting+fielding. Maybe it's my lack of attention span that prefers the constant action..

    It was mentioned the DD is 8, so she's probably not throwing hard/fast enough to hurt an adult.
