We weren’t allowed into indoor practice due to Covid so I didn’t get to see them until we got outside in May. We’re in the northeast so our season doesn’t start until then. We’ve had a couple of scrimmages, first tourney was last weekend.
Tryouts here are in July. No clue why they are so early...

On one hand, I agree. I just want her to play, not schlep around the state to ride the pine. If she drops to devo level, misses out on some tourneys but gets more playing time and can keep improving...
Yep, this is exactly what it feels like happened. I believe they care very much about their big org reputation, and therefore winning matters more than development/loyalty. Even at the lowest level.

Thanks, fair point - I can say (directly from the parents) that 2 of the 3 were definitely against their wishes. The other was borderline - she is a pitcher and was told she wouldn’t get many chances in our team. Yet the ringer and one of the newbies came straight in and pitched.
