I see what ya mean ..haven't seen any changes .. I pitch from longer distance in field but not as good and very time consuming picking up balls..we moved to cage for time management .. the thought behind the short distance is to work more consistently on certain spots round the plate and be...
Crushing it.. Just wondering from any of the more experience hitting coaches on board if this was a good move or not to be closer .. Just figured she have to get quicker at close range and can feed her more spots to work on
We are coming off HS slow pitch they are conditioning now but me and my DD practice pitching and hitting after school.. Wanting opinion on distance to pitch from behind screen in cage.. Been at 28 ft starting out did well but have now moved to bout 15 ft so I can cnOntrol pitch placement and...
i would think a step to third would open u up .. May not be a actual step AT Third but generally speaking.. I try teach my DD to step to hit to just seems to give her the best power and can go any direction she wants..
Marriard.. That's about as sound of advise as you can give anyone forming a new team...I don't do Tourney team anymore but ill say this the parents will wear you out before a kid unless you have the understandings off the bat.. When we did do 8u and 10u it was for sole purpose of more reps win...
First thing I did when my DD moved to live pitches 8yrs ago .. was to drill her in the thigh in the cage to show her it wasn't gona kill her ( which I created a monster cause she owns that box when she steps foot in it now) and let her swing at anything she thought she could hit.. as time went...
I would rather get behind a screen at 15 where I can control every pitch placement and speed.. seems to be the best thing for us .. have the jugs and a atec 260 but rarely use them ... seems that girls get to timing the pitch by sound too .. which they will not have that in live play.. sure...
correct .. Watching is too wide term and casues the eye to see as a whole object .. by seeing the ball or seeing something specific on the ball, which creates focus to see the ball...All too often you will find teams in the 8u that have coaches pitching to the swing instead of them teaching to...
I tried it in practice with my rec team this yr and saw good response on reaction times.. tried it in a game and when they did it was still better reaction tyimes.. the key is to get 12u REC ball to dop it everytime was the hard part.. hahaha
MacLobo .. you are correct and to add some of these kids really don't want to be there the parents force them to try and get them into some sort of social interactions. I have seen it all even had girls come to every practice come to opening ceremony get team pic taken and never return. She was...
I have coached rec ball softball for 10 yrs and boys baseball before that.. 6u to 14u.. nothing burns me up more than girls/boys not knowing how to catch and throw the ball properly.. it is the absolute in the game and that has to be accomplished for them to have fun playing and keep them coming...
It is hard to get what you really want in a few hrs clinic.. I do agree that every player should have a catcher.. what we have done is past is have a pitching and catcher clinic at same time .. each set of girls on different fields for first hr then paired up ... still hard to get what ya need...
