Just finished soccer and volleyball and trying to get ready for spring softball. We just started swinging without instruction and here is where we are. No instruction was given except for trying to get a feel for the pressure in her feet with weight transfer.
I'm not sure where the...
We've finally wrapped up basketball and soccer and have finally found some time to take a few swings. Not really working on anything just swinging to knock off the rust. She's swinging a 31" 28 oz wood bat off the tee. Moved the ball up and down and in and out just to get back in the swing...
Finally got around to videoing a game. A little background, throws fastball and change-up. Throws pretty hard for our age group. Usually has very good control. We have been working on trying to get a little more leg drive and had been wiping the wall with the ball. At times, when all...
Posted this in the pitching forum, but thought it might get answered here.
12U Game, runner on third two outs. Our pitcher starts her motion and for some reason stops her delivery and starts over. Umps call IP, and calls the ball but doesn't reward the runner on third home. Pitcher throws the...
12U Game, runner on third two outs. Our pitcher starts her motion and for some reason stops her delivery and starts over. Umps call IP, and calls the ball but doesn't reward the runner on third home. Pitcher throws the next pitch for a strike and the base ump stops the play after the next...
Can someone explain to me why the rulebook states that the batter runner is not out on a dropped third strike until they "enter the team area." Rule 8 Secton 2, D. In a league game, we had an opposing player swing at the third strike, pitched ball was low, bounced into catchers glove. Batter...
Batter pivots to bunt, fouls the ball directly to the catchers chest protector, hits catchers arm, bounces up and catcher catches the ball. Catcher never moved from her squat position. Is the batter out or is it treated like a swinging foul tip that the catcher catches?
In our situation...
Finally nice enough to get outside and pitch. Have a new video camera and had my 7 year old video a quick pitching session. It's amazing what you can see on video slowed down. Looking for comments to help improve.
Thanks
First time posting or even taking video of my daughter. Thought I would post and see what advice I could receive. I try not to screw things up too bad. Read more on the forums than post, but am slowly learning. She typically hits pretty well. I see lots of things wrong, but not sure where...
Hello,
Finally got some video of my 10 year old daughter. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions. Things that I see are a little forward lean at release and could use a little more leg drive.
Thanks again,
DB
Just started hitting with my 10 year old DD and for some reason she is stepping out when swinging. When I point it out, she corrects for a few swings and then starts stepping out again. Tried putting a bucket outside of her front foot, and it works for awhile and then it's back to stepping...
Just curious as to what people recommend for daily hitting practice to keep things interesting. Our team is mostly 9 year olds in a travel light situation. They take it pretty serious and are willing to work to improve. Thanks!
